'Bag a Smile' Appeal - help the Refugees

Bag a Smile is an appeal set up by a group of local mothers sending refugee children who are stranded in Europe and Lebanon the bare necessities.

Playcircle families jumped on board supporting the appeal, raising funds and generously donating items to fill the ‘Bag a Smile’ rucksacks. The lightweight, waterproof bags that can be easily carried by little people are filled with essential items for the children to survive. Baby grows, blankets, nappies, hats, gloves, toiletries, foil blankets and torches are among some of the items collected. We also collected small toys, colouring in books and pencils.

It was a huge effort and before Christmas we managed to sort and fill 75 bags for children aged 0-8yrs. These were sent in a shipment of 300 bags from Stroud to Lesvos and Athens, going straight to the children and families arriving there.

‘Bag a Smile’ is still fundraising and continues their amazing work. Please follow the link to find out more or donate. bagasmile@outlook.com
